01/15/2022 at 08:45 by Maximilian Hohm – The Radeon RX 6500 XT is said to be a graphics card for 1080p that can be considered as an upgrade for older computers or for players of competitive e-sports titles. Due to a small memory expansion, it should be uninteresting for miners, but at the same time still sufficient for gamers. Less than a week before the launch, more and more new models are presented. AMD’s Radeon RX 6500 XT was sharply criticized even before it officially arrived on the market due to some design decisions by AMD. The understandable points of criticism are the low memory expansion of only 4 GiB, the removed decoder and encoder, the neutered PCI-E 4.0 interface, which is only connected with four lanes, and of course the price development.RTX 3080 12GB: Asus with “realistic” RRPs from 1,519 euros But there are also positive aspects of the new graphics card. Due to the small chip with low power consumption, physically small graphics cards that are suitable for ITX builds should also be possible. After presenting the new Fighter model with dual-fan setup, Powercolor has now presented the Radeon RX 6500 XT ITX. With a length of 165 mm, the card is one of the shortest graphics cards on the market. With a width of 125 mm, the dual-slot design only protrudes slightly over the slot bezel and only has a central 90 mm fan that remains switched off when the GPU temperature falls below 60 degrees. As intended by AMD, the ITX model also only has one DP and one HDMI connection. Powercolor’s product images show a six-pin power connector, but the technical details indicate an eight-pin socket. The latter is unlikely, since AMD itself provides a six-pin and this can already provide 150 watts in combination with the 75 W of the PCI-E slot. Typical board power is far below that at 107 watts.AMD’s official retail price for the Radeon RX 6500 XT is $199, but Powercolor hasn’t announced an MSRP for the new model yet.Source: PowercolorSupports PCGH – it only takes one Minute.
