A “network of around 600 Austrian doctors” spoke out against compulsory vaccination in an open letter to the members of the National Council today. The initiative is called “Health for Austria” – according to the broadcast, an imminent break-up of society due to compulsory vaccination is stated. The medical association wants to correct the statements with a fact check. A related broadcast criticized the fact that the vaccination requirement “regardless of the age-dependent individual risk-benefit ratio” also affects young people aged 14 and over. Almost no health exceptions are planned, “even for people who are at risk of life and health from the vaccine, the exception should be provided by the doctors with an expiration date”.

Fact check also announced

Compulsory vaccination would undermine the relationship of trust between doctors and patients; Doctors who issued too many vaccination exemptions would come under blanket suspicion. It is also criticized that vaccinations have to be given several times. The medical association wants to “check” the letter. As in the case of the open letter that 199 doctors sent directly to the medical association in December, she also wants to correct the statements by means of a fact check. More than 300 names can be found under the letter. When asked, the Chamber of Physicians does not yet know whether these are really practicing doctors and what specialty they belong to. According to the letter, “Hundreds of doctors support this letter in its entirety”, but would “not want to make their signature public for fear of professional restrictions”. Medical Association President Thomas Szekeres assured that the fear of his organization was unfounded. Nobody will be prosecuted because of a signature.
