A whimsical animated video shows Iran exacting revenge on “Qasem Soleimani’s killer” at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s golf resort back. Donald Trump, then US President, had given the order for the drone attack. Soleimani was commander of the Quds Force, a branch of the Revolutionary Guard – the US blamed him for the deaths of thousands of people. But in Iran he was not only highly regarded by the military, but also by the population. After Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Soleimani was considered one of the most important figures in the country. Iran swore revenge. And the ayatollah shows what such an act of revenge could look like.
Iran: Top General Qasem Soleimani died two years ago
Two years after his death, Iran commemorates Qasem Soleimani. How the country’s leadership is dealing with their anger and sadness can be seen in a video posted by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei, on his official website. The animation shows Donald Trump, possibly then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and friends playing a game of golf at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Florida resort. Menacing music is played right at the beginning. The video then shows the view of a drone circling over the golf resort and the room from which the drone and robot appear to be controlled. A large and two small screens are installed in front of the suspected drone pilot, who incidentally still uses the Windows Vista operating system. One of these small screens shows, among other things, a photo of Qasem Soleimani, who appears several times in photos in the video.
Iran: Supreme leader fantasizes about assassination attempt on Donald Trump
The drone pilot holds up a piece of paper with words in Farsi. Then you can see on the screen how something is being “hacked”. The sentence appears in English: “Soleimain’s killers and the one who gave the order will pay the price.” This message also appears on the cellphones of Trump and Co. before the alleged deadly drone attack occurs. You don’t see the indicated bloodbath. The video only shows buttons being pressed while targeting Donald Trump. It ends with the words, “Revenge Is Definite” – meaning there will definitely be revenge – in both English and Farsi.

Named “Revenge Is Definite,” animation shows former US Secretary of State Pompeo & President Trump being targeted by LAW and drone while playing golf at Mar-a-Lago referred to as “Trump’s House” pic.twitter.com/zHS3ktGYKZ— Sobhan Hassanvand 📰 سبحان حسنوند (@Hassanvand) January 13, 2022
It is not the first video of its kind. One released in May last year shows the US Capitol being blown up and an armed invasion of Jerusalem, Israel’s capital. On the first anniversary of Soleimani’s death, the Iranian news agency Tasnim published a picture showing Donald Trump playing golf in the shadow of a combat drone. The message was similar: “Revenge is inevitable.” And a daughter of the former top general is said to have described Trump as “defeated, isolated and broken” when he was forced to leave the White House after the 2020 US election. Then-Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif said on the last day of Trump’s term in office that his government was now “disgraced in the dustbin of history.”
Assassination attempt on Qasem Soleimani: Iran threatens Donald Trump with revenge
“Trump personally ordered the general’s assassination and must therefore be tried as the chief assassin in an international court,” Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said last week, according to the Isna news agency. “Otherwise he faces the revenge of the Muslim people.” The attack on Qasem Soleimani was one on the entire Iranian people. In a letter to the head of the UN General Assembly, Iran recently called for a resolution against the assassination of Soleimani. A national hero in the Islamic Republic, the US sees him as a terrorist and the military face of Iran’s meddling in neighboring countries in the region.
