Why do I need the CovPass App?
With the CovPass app you can securely and digitally prove corona vaccinations if necessary. Simply show the QR code in the CovPass app. Use of the CovPass app is voluntary. You can also prove your corona vaccination in another way. In the future, proof of recovery from a corona infection or a negative corona test can also be stored and displayed in the CovPass app.
How does the CovPass app work?
The Corona vaccination certificate contains a QR code. Scan the QR code with the CovPass app. The vaccination certificate is then saved in the app. A QR code can be generated as proof for each individual vaccination, which is displayed directly in the app after scanning. Please note that the vaccination protection is only sufficiently effective about 14 days after the last vaccination. When checking the QR code with the official CovPassCheck app, only the necessary information is displayed: vaccination status, last name, first name and date of birth. Show the QR code to quickly and securely verify your corona vaccination status. In future, evidence of recovery from a corona infection or a negative corona test can also be displayed in the CovPass app.
What is the digital vaccination certificate?
The digital vaccination certificate is an additional option for documenting corona vaccinations. In the future, people who have been vaccinated should be able to store information such as the time of vaccination and the vaccine conveniently and digitally on their smartphones. In future, proof of recovery from a corona infection or a negative corona test can also be displayed on the smartphone.
How does the digital vaccination certificate work?
The digital vaccination certificate is issued in the doctor’s office, in a pharmacy or in a vaccination center. All information of the digital vaccination certificate is also contained in a QR code. The digital vaccination certificate can be transferred to the CovPass app by scanning the QR code. This app is free to download. The CovPass app saves the vaccination certificate locally on the user’s smartphone.
Will there still be the yellow analogue vaccination card?
Yes. The digital vaccination certificate is only a voluntary and supplementary offer. If the vaccinated person does not have a digital vaccination certificate or has lost it, the vaccination certificate via the well-known “yellow booklet” is of course still possible and valid.
