Treatment in the hospital: Corona blows up US citizens after fake death in Scotland

Corona revival – a Covid 19 infection exposed a US citizen who had faked his death. The 34-year-old, who was wanted for rape, declared a good two years ago that he was in Ireland and terminally ill, the newspaper The Providence Journal reported. An obituary was published at the end of February 2020. But in truth, he fled to Scotland and took on another name, said investigator Robert Creamer. There the suspect fell ill with Corona and had to be ventilated. The police had suspected for months that the man was still alive. He was arrested in mid-December, prosecutor David Leavitt said on Friday. The hospital staff identified him on a photo. He didn’t want to give details. The man is said to have raped a woman in Utah in 2008. He is also wanted in Ohio, according to the FBI, for allegedly stealing a credit card from his foster father and owing him more than $200,000. It was still unclear whether the man would also be prosecuted for faking his death. (th/dpa)
