This was the result of close coordination between the district office and the respective police and regulatory authorities of the municipalities. Due to the enactment of the general decree, such gatherings are only permitted at a fixed location. “The right to assembly represents one of the highest fundamental rights in the Basic Law. Nevertheless, it is necessary for all those involved to prepare the assemblies properly and to steer them in the right direction. For this purpose, it is mandatory to register with the district office at least 48 hours before the start of the meeting, so that the authorities can prepare properly and the police can also ensure the necessary protection for the participants in the meeting,” says district administrator Bernhard Kern.
