How to Access Your Yahoo! Mail Account Using IMAP?

The configuration of Yahoo Mail account with Desktop Email Clients via IMAP lets a user send and receive emails from the program itself along with access to the account via a web browser.
482 Maple Street, Louisiana, HT48313: With a desktop Email Client installed on the computer, a user can easily access and manage multiple email accounts from a single place. Email Clients lets a user connect his/her email accounts with the program and allows operations like sending and receiving emails directly via program without any need to open an email account separately. Yahoo Mail users can also access this feature by easily connecting their email account with desktop Email Clients such as Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail, Apple Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird. One just needs to set up an IMAP account in order to make use of this feature.
Considering an example of setting up Yahoo Mail account in Outlook. To connect the account, one will need to open the Outlook in the computer and select Account Settings under File tab. After that selecting the Add Account option and then choosing the option Manual setup additional server types will open a new page. Then, it is required to select POP or IMAP option and setup an IMAP account with following settings:

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

• Port: 993
• Requires SSL: Yes
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server
• Server:
• Port: 465 or 587
• Requires SSL: Yes
• Requires authentication: Yes
Your login info
• Email address: Your complete email address
• Password: Password of your account
• Requires authentication: Yes
Saving the above-mentioned settings and following the further on-screen instructions will successfully establish a link between the user’s Yahoo Mail and Outlook account. Once the process is completed successfully, a user will be able to access his or her Yahoo Mail account easily using the Outlook account.
